Tony and Judy Banks have sold OMEO PEONIES to Kevin and Raymond Paulin who have been leasing part of their property for 10 years and growing fruit on it. It is the Paulins’ intention to subdivide off the peonies, house and buildings and sell them as a going concern business and retain the land with their fruit trees on.
There are approximately 9200 peony plants on the property, in over 90 varieties and with room to expand. The business includes cutflowers mainly for export and root sales, with increasing orders coming from our omeopeonies.com website for both flowers and roots. We also operate a contract packing operation for two other growers who have indicated their wish to continue supplying a new owner.
The property is situated 10km from both Alexandra and Clyde on the Earnscleugh flat in Central Otago. The soil and climate is excellent for growing peonies, the property is well sheltered and has an excellent low cost water supply from the Earnscleugh Scheme.
